Are we actually seeing more crime in Rothesay and Quispamsis, or does social media make it seem that way?

As we launch our new Corporate Communications Program, residents may notice an increase in the information being shared by the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force.

This is part of our commitment to strengthening communication, transparency and public trust. We believe the public has a right to know what is happening in their community, particularly when it comes to public safety.

Our goal is to provide more timely, accurate and relevant information about police activities, emerging trends, crime prevention and community safety initiatives.

The program also recognizes the importance of maintaining an appropriate balance between the public’s right to know, our obligations under privacy legislation and the need to protect the integrity of ongoing investigations.

An increase in police messaging does not necessarily mean an increase in crime. Rather, it reflects our commitment to keeping residents better informed, providing context and creating more opportunities for meaningful engagement with the communities we serve.
